i have Compaq C563TU laptop and want to connect it to my TV so that I could use the TV as a display unit (monitor). The laptop has a 7 pin S-Video port so i bought a 7 pin S-Video converter and plugged it to the port.. But when I connected the video (RCA) jack to the TV and the other end to the converter and switched the TV to Video input there was no display!! sad.gif

What do I do? Did I miss anything??

Make sure you are on the correct TV video input. Press the input button on your TV or remote until you see your computer's signal.

Your only going to get a maximum resolution of 640x480.

how exactly did you connect via that cord? it's a s-vid out that goes in your lappy and a female end. did you plug another rca cord from the tv into the female end of the cord you bought?

why not just buy a real s-vid to rca cord for $20?
