They used to help back with older monitors when script would burn into the screen. Now screensavers are just eye candy.

Not really.

LCDs they do absolutely nothing.

Some screensavers actually are worse for CRTs - if they have static images or only use part of the screen.


It is a much better idea to use the power management options. That will have a good effect on your monitor's life.

Screen savers prevents the image from being burned on your screen.
