My monitor says "check signal cable" That's my DVI cable right?

Trying to install windows vista on my new custom built computer? I have a Samsung syncmaster and all I see is a floating box that says check signal cable.
How DO I FIX THIS. Please Help

I have checked and double checked the connection of the DVI cables. I guess the Video card may not be in all the way or tight enough.

The thing that confuses me the most is that the there was a connection because I got to the windows intallation screen. A message said that windows would restart multiple times which never happened that I can remember. After the screen was blank for about an hour and half I got worried. So, I restarted the computer. Since then the monitor either says no signal or there's just a flashing blue light.

I don't know what could be wrong!

It seems that most people find that built-in speakers in LCD monitors are pretty bad -- weak and not enough bass. Are there any LCD monitors that have decent speakers? They don't need to be loud enough to fill a room, but good enough so if I'm sitting at my desk I can reasonably listen to tunes or watch a video.

I have an LCD monitor VGA only, and a CRT (obviously VGA). Rig has GeForce 6600GT AGP (VGA, DVI, S-Video). Running Vista Home Premium. Questions: 1. Will Vista support this setup (I know my card will)? 2. Do I need anything other than a Male DVI to Female VGA Adapter (In Order To Utilize Both VGA and DVI Connection)? 3. Or do you think it is better to use a VGA splitter? 4. Also, does Vista allow different content on each monitor or does it have to be split view of desktop or windows... etc.? This is my first time out with dual monitors, so I want to get everything in one whack or not get anything if Vista doesn't support different content on each monitor. Please don't answer if with "Vista Sucks", "Get XP". This is what I have to work with.

I have an IBM T41 which is about 5 years old.. still works great.

But the screen tends to cut off after awhile. It would just go black. And the funny thing is, I can still adjust the brightness.

Another thing that happens is if I apply pressure near the keyboard and push the screen to the left, it would appear again. And sometimes if I apply too much pressure, the screen would reappear frozen with lines all over and I'd have to reboot, holding down the power button.

Took it in for a diagnostics at a pc store, but they couldn't figure it out.

Think it has something to do with the hinges?

Help please.

Thanks.

Okay, so here's the deal. My laptop screen broke. It burnt out or something. So, I was told I can hook up a monitor to my laptop. I tried to that today, only when I turn the monitor on, all I can see is my pink background. There's no icons, no Start bar, nothing! How do I get everything to show up on my monitor? Detailed directions would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm a college student and can't go much longer without a screen to see the papers I have to write!

I have a macbook, aluminum I think, and the hinges are broken. I've been using it perched against a brace. That has been working fine for a while but now, but I just noticed that the broken hinges have worn at the wiring and I swear I saw it smoke.

Has anyone tried to repair something like this and how much would it cost?

As an alternative, I was thinking I could clip the monitor all together and use a external LCD.

Pros & Cons?

So whenever I turn my computer monitor to the right, it gets a screen as though I am holding a magnet up to it. Why is it doing this? I've moved virtually every single thing away from my monitor, at least 4 feet for everything, and it still does it. What's worse. It did the same thing in my old house. The only things I don't move are my computer tower, and my external hard drive, which obviously wouldn't have any magnets in them. Anyway, does a monitor really know when you are turning it? It does it whether I pick it up and turn it, or turn it using the "turn table" connected to the monitor. Anyway, why would it do this? It's fine if I turn my desk. It only does this when I turn my monitor. It's so annoying because I want to turn it so I can see it from my bed.

Thanks for the help,

Matt

I know traditionally monitors are measured diagonally - but what about the new widescreen models? Is a 19" widescreen monitor still 19" from corner to corner?

I have the habit of using the monitor as a white board. Although the white board is also within my reach, I find it easier to write on the monitor itself because I have to move (and rotate the chair) a bit to reach the whiteboard.
Now my friend is telling me that this is not good for the monitor. Is it true that this can cause damage to the monitor?

Im having LCD PC monitor (TFT). Today morning I found that Its screen has got a patch at the bottom. Even the set-up bar is not visible because of it. The patch's hiding almost 1/4th of the screen. Its monsoon here.So Is It because of the moisture? If not then what else it could be? And most important what do i do now?How do i get my screen back?
