I have the habit of using the monitor as a white board. Although the white board is also within my reach, I find it easier to write on the monitor itself because I have to move (and rotate the chair) a bit to reach the whiteboard.
Now my friend is telling me that this is not good for the monitor. Is it true that this can cause damage to the monitor?

What are the solvents in the ink of the marker?

How much do you want to gamble that those solvents have no effect on the plastic coatings on the monitor?

Write on the whiteboard, it is what it is there for.

put the white board next to the monitor. if the whiteboard is too big, buy a smaller one. White boards are a whole lot cheaper than monitors.
