Monitors

My monitor has a blue hue. I switched monitors and second monitor also has a blue hue so it's definatly not a bent prong on the monitor it has to do with my computer. Any thoughts?

Hello all!
This is my first post here.
My Sony VAIO LCD computer monitor (4 years old) has a problem since the last week.
When starting up after being off for a prolonged time (monitor light amber), eg., when coming out of hibernation or standby, the monitor does not go on immediately, but blinks on and off for a few minutes. During this time the monitor indicator is blinking green and the computer indicator light is on. I can see glimpses of the desktop during the on periods. The on periods gradually increase, and then after some minutes it stays on without any further problems. Can anyone help me with this? I have scanned for viruses and the computer is clean. The only new thing is that I installed hi-speed internet several weeks ago, but it was fine until last week.

If I adjust the screen (close it to a certain angle), it comes back on again, and I have to open the screen really slowly for it to remain on.

My mom replaced her hard drive, I updated her windows to windows xp service pack 2, it said to restart so I did, when I restarted everything on her desktop was very big and fuzzy, I got a pop up box that said do you want to automatic fix, I clicked yes, nothing happened, so I tried to fix my self in the control panel, display, I'm not sure what I did but now its just black, no pictures, no icons, nothing, I cant go in the system restore (F10) I can go to setup (F1). Please help me, her computer is an HP

okay.. i was bored and was playing pool on my computer... using vista btw. and suddenly the screen went black and it said my display driver crashed but it has recovered. This has happened twice. It coincidentally hapepened when i started up the program and when i exited the program. Does this have soemthing to do with the game of pool or is it something a little more serious?

The flat screen doesn't just go black, the power is off. Pressing the power button does not turn it on. This is inconsistent. Sometimes it doesn't do this. My pc is a 2 yr old Acer.

I have bought a new motherboard and case, seperated, I built everthing right, except the Graphics card which sits perfectly in the motherboard, but doesn't run. here are the things I've installed in the motherboard.
1GB RAM
Core 2 Duo and its fan
GeForce Graphics card
Power supply which have two sockets, one for itself's power and one for the monitor (Which I don't need) Monitor is already plugged into a socket.
there is power to the monitor, the PC starts, but the black background with the white writings on the monitor doesn't come up.
Hard Disk And DVD Drive haven't been installed yet, they're not important to start up the monitor.
Please tell me anything you know. Thanks

I thought that high resolution would provide finer text detail and make it more clear. But I just read a buying guide that said that high resolution made for better pictures, but would make text reading more difficult. I mostly do email and surf the net, but I thought a larger screen and high resolution would be easier on my eyes, now I'm having second thoughts.

Hi There,
Well it seems to me I'm missing a driver for my Apple monitor. I've had it for about a year and all of a sudden the screen doesn't have very good color. This happened to me on a PC and after installing a driver everything was working. I'm hoping someone can give me a link to find a driver for my iMac 4.1. My screen has very poor color. I can hardly read small writing and I need help. I tried changing the resolution and all already, and my warranty is expired. I'm hoping I won't have to bring it into a shop...

unplugging and powering down doesn't help either.

I I want to build up a new system just for doing one task alone and it makes no sense I buy another monitor when I already have one.

I want to know how do I use one monitor but have totall controll of two computers?

I mainly want to use the other PC to convert DVD to mp4's.

Can an LCD computer monitor be calibrated? I had a Spyder Pro2 and went through the whole process three times. Each time, everything turned a not so lovely shade of blue. I gave up and sold the Spyder on eBay. I have since read that you can't really calibrate an LCD monitor.

What's your experience with this?

i just bought a Viewsonic vx2235wm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116059 and when i play videos(retail dvd's in my dvdrom, downloaded .avi's(xvid/divx), winamp shoutcast tv streaming) it is very blocky but when i play games the picture looks great.

any info explaining why the picture is blocky when playing movies/tv shows would be greatly appreciated. I am using the provided DVI cable it came with. would i get a better picture with a dvi-d cable over the monitors provided dvi cable?

(i do have the latest video drivers and latest k-lite codec pack)

Should I get a glossy or matte display? I really have no preference, I am trying to base my decision on the mean of everyone's choices. I know this is idiotic, but I have no choice.
