Pressing PrtScn (Print Screen) will copy an image of your entire desktop onto the clipboard.

Pressing Alt-PrtScn will copy an image of the currently active application onto the clipboard.

Just paste them into Paint, or whatever you favorite graphics program is.

Just hit Print Screen on your keyboard, then open up a program like "paint" and paste the image to it. Then you will have a screen shot.
