Hello all!
This is my first post here.
My Sony VAIO LCD computer monitor (4 years old) has a problem since the last week.
When starting up after being off for a prolonged time (monitor light amber), eg., when coming out of hibernation or standby, the monitor does not go on immediately, but blinks on and off for a few minutes. During this time the monitor indicator is blinking green and the computer indicator light is on. I can see glimpses of the desktop during the on periods. The on periods gradually increase, and then after some minutes it stays on without any further problems. Can anyone help me with this? I have scanned for viruses and the computer is clean. The only new thing is that I installed hi-speed internet several weeks ago, but it was fine until last week.
Thanks!

Usually a Green blinking light on the monitor means the signal is out of range, but check that your connections are tight.

Remove the cable from your monitor to the computer and re-connect it. Do not force it. This will clean the contacts.

Do the same with the video card if it is not on board (part of the motherboard) but a separate video card..

Some applications automatically change your video settings.

The application may be one installed on your computer or one you access through the Internet.

Right click on a blank area of your desktop.

Select Properties with a left click.

Left click on Settings

Set your resolution to 1024 X768.

Left click on Advanced, one of the Tabs should have settings for Monitor frequency.

Make sure your frequency is 60Hz.

If non these work, it could be your LCD monitor is near the end of it life.

Good Luck

Might want to update the video drivers for the monitor and/or your graphics card.

If you need help, let me know.
