how to fix the sounds on my computer????help?

my computer is hp pavilion s3100n. My computer doesn't have sound and I dont know what happen? what should i do? can you guys help me?....

Open up your control panel.
Open Sounds and Audio Devices
See if mute is checked.
Check your volume.
