My guess would be that the shadow mask shifted when you dropped it.
You would need a new CRT. It would be cheaper to buy a new monitor.

Could be a number of hardware issues, not necessarily anything to do with the monitor, though the monitor gives you a clue that something is definitely wrong. Primarily, you're running XP on a machine that it will overload... XP's minimum requirements for running well at all is 256 MB... recommended at 512+, but of course as time passes technologies change... Regardless, it could be the computer is overheating, so make sure you check your heat sync and any fans, also make sure it's in an area where it may ventilate properly. If all else fails, try to start in safe mode and figure out if it'll at least run that much.

hey
be honest. its not his mistake. he fixed your monitor's problem. he has put in all his efforts. take the monitor to him, explain wat happened. its better to buy a new one. dont go for CRT, nowadays LCD monitors are very cheaper and doesnt spoil users eye sight as well as consumes less power upto 12V only, space saving, many like this.
all the best.

Try degaussing the monitor. There should be an option to do this in the menu for your monitor.
If that doesn't work, I'm not too sure.

if you are street smart ..you would go back immediately to the guy, and tell him that the problem has not been fixed and infact he screwed it up somewhere. .. !!
He can do the fixing ..it must have been the CRT a little dizzy after the spin ...
Go on...What you waiting for ?
