Ok I just got a brand new graphics card: Ati Radeon X1300. I followed the install directions un-installed the old one (Ati Radeon 9800) etc etc. Ok when I shut it down with the older card, it would say Off mode in 5 seconds. Then the monitor would turn off.

Now it says when I shut it down Please Check Signal then turns off. Is that ok? It doesnt do it on start up at all. However, once while playing Bioshock it went black and said Please Check Signal so I pushed the cord in the back of the monitor abit and the monitor came back on. This happened about a week ago.

Now just today I was playing Battlegrounds 2 the mod for Half Life 2 and it said Please Check Signal, but this time it went kinda fuzzy and then restarted itsself. First time its ever done that.

Could anyone help me out with this? Do I need a new cable? The cords prongs and the cards recievers arent damaged. Thanks in advance!

I've had the computer for a few years now, but it's not that old. It's a regular monitor, not a flat screen.

I have a nvidia Ge Force FX 5200 and currently am using 2 monitors for the dual monitor feature. it also has an s-video out. I was wondering if i could also use a tv through the s-video and have 3 monitors?
I think thats my only choice since my pc on can hold 1 video card and since its watt capacity inst that high for newer video cards.

if not is there such thing as a splitter that not only duplicates the image but adds another screen? (i highly doubt that lol)

If i can do the 3 monitor set up using my current video card, is there a converter that will convert s-video to vga or svga? ( i kinda doubt that but don't know lol)

Please Help Me?!?!?!!?!?

Thanks a million :)

I have a Hanns-G 19in LCD. I find the native brightness & Contrast ratio to be very tough on my eyes. Anyone knows a good contrast and brightness ratio setting that is easy on the eyes?
Do not give me an answer like "it depends on your eyes". I want numerical answers such as "set the contrast to 50". Thanks

I have a dell inspiron b120 and i need to replace my screen. I saw on the internet (ebay) 2 screens. A 14.1 inch and a 15.4 inch. The 15.4 inch is glossy and clearer, so i am leaning towards that. But, i have a 14.1 inch screen right now. Would both be compatible? Could I buy any lcd to replace mine?

I am fixing a (TFT) PC monitor at the moment, I think this piece may be a capacitor; I'm not sure.

Here is a picture: http://la.gg/thmb550/DSC00011.jpg

Also, could someone tell me the "power" of it, it had the writing 18J 3KV on it. Thanks!

Recently my computer stopped working. There is a "No Signal" display on my monitor screen when I start my PC. After several hours of replacing parts and rebuilding (custom built) the system I decided to investigate whether the monitor was the problem.

With that, I thought "Let's see what happens when I press all the buttons on my monitor!" Bad idea. My screen now shows a "Burn-in" message instead of searching for an input and flashes green, red, blue, white etc. and repeats.

I can't access the OSD (On-Screen Display) and I've tried the obvious like unplugging it and then plugging it back in. In case it matters, it's an Envision G19WLk.

Does anyone know how I can stop it from doing that?

Okay, when I came home from vacation this summer, I tried turning on my comp. The power plug was unplugged. My mom said my computer was making this wierd noise and it wouldn't turn off so she unplugged it. I tried plugging it back on and when i did that the power button started flashing and making this wierd noise. It will not turn on at all, and will not open CD drives. I'm going to give a lot of details so you know everything that I can observe from it. Please help if you can.
DETAILS:
Fan is working
Power button flashing orangish-green extremley fast
Makes a 'dududududududu' sound in tune with the flashing
light below power button is yellow
All wires are indeed plugged in
When first press moniter button on it is green for a sec then...
Moniter light is orange (color it is on standbye and when off)
Will not turn off no matter what unless you unplug power cord
The moniter is not the problem, that I am sure of
Computer is an emachines
Around 4 years old I think.

What I mean is, can you clean your LCD screen without worrying about damaging the LCD since there might be a screen in front of the LCD itself?
