Use a Ethernet patch cable it looks like a phone cable but slightly bigger..plug into laptop and desktop pc... if you have a router or hub just use a regular Ethernet cable... on the laptop go to 'Network" and create a LAN connection at the end it will ask if you want to create a floppy to run on another machine, do it and run it on the desktop....reboot both machines the laptop should see the desktop pc in 'My Network Places' You will only see shared folders but if you can get a monitor and turn sharing on for your C:drive you'll see most of your drive information...then you can use it as a server to store and back-up stuff....have fun

You have a couple of options.

Use an external monitor. You should be able to connect a monitor to the laptop, then once it has booted up there will be a Fn key option that will switch to the external display. IBM/Lenovo laptops us Fn + F7 HPs use Fn + F4 . . . Look for a symbol that looks like a screen on one of the F keys. Then you can burn your information to a CD, or put it on a memory key.

The other option is to get a external USB enclosure that you can put your laptop drive in.
