Ok I just got a brand new graphics card: Ati Radeon X1300. I followed the install directions un-installed the old one (Ati Radeon 9800) etc etc. Ok when I shut it down with the older card, it would say Off mode in 5 seconds. Then the monitor would turn off.

Now it says when I shut it down Please Check Signal then turns off. Is that ok? It doesnt do it on start up at all. However, once while playing Bioshock it went black and said Please Check Signal so I pushed the cord in the back of the monitor abit and the monitor came back on. This happened about a week ago.

Now just today I was playing Battlegrounds 2 the mod for Half Life 2 and it said Please Check Signal, but this time it went kinda fuzzy and then restarted itsself. First time its ever done that.

Could anyone help me out with this? Do I need a new cable? The cords prongs and the cards recievers arent damaged. Thanks in advance!

Please Check Signal means that the monitor is not receiving a signal. You probably do want to investigate the video connections for the loss of signal issue during game play. A new cable may be the answer, or a more firm/secure connection would do it. The monitor could be having an input connector issue internally, too. These are all just possibilities which you can investigate further for a better assessment/diagnosis.

Tighten the thumbscrews on the cable connectors so that the cable does not work loose.

If you have diagnostics on the video chip you might want to run those to see if it is overheating or having problems when you run the games.
