I'm connection my Nintendo Wii into my HP w2207, and it wont work through the VGA signal too well, so i want to try the DVI input.

Hiya Dac,

I don't think DVI is the answer. I would consider getting a YPbPr to RGBHV VGA box and then you can clearly view the Wii games at 480p on your HP w2207 using VGA.

Here is what one looks like:http://www.mayflash.com/vgabox/vga001/vga001.htm

Of course you should read the pro method of tweaking your Wii display for 480p on this page at the WiiChat forum. Read the first 3 postings: http://www.wiichat.com/nintendo-wii-hardware/12752-ypbpr-rgbhv-vga-box.html

There are other methods and all of them involve some investment of time and money. I like this one because it is a specific solution to your issue that is being used by others right now.

I should add that some Wii gamers have had good luck with this cable adapter: http://www.vdigi.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=2&category_id=3&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1

GOOD LUCK!!

Well, to get HD decent video, your going to have to use the DVI port. What you will need is a HDMI to DVI cable or adapter. Using VGA probably just wouldn't even work.

It's not easy. http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/40-886.html
That's a $500 converter, and the quality is lousy.

It's hard to convert analog RGB signals to digital stuff. It's like trying to convert a VHS to a DVD.

Some monitors have composite/S video/component inputs. I know some dells do.

No.

The signals are totally incompatible.
