Monitors

So I was trying to install a SATA300 PCI Adapter, and my new hard drive. All was well, until I tried to boot up - and the monitor gets no signal.

I've checked all my connections, tried my old hard drive as originally configured, tried a different monitor... to no avail.

I'm by no means an *expert*, but I'm pretty knowledgeable with computers, and this one has me at my wits end. Any ideas??

We have to turn are heads to the right to read any-thing. Like the "X" is in the bottom right hand corner. We tried the button's that are on the moniter. We tried going into the properties, nothing worked.

Which one is better? VGA or DVI?
I heard many people have troubles while they are dealing with DVI... is it because something has to be set in BIOS first?
so I should use VGA?

Is there any way I can change my windows me settings from a linux live cd, or some other dos method or something. My computer's resolution got messed up, and now when I reboot, I can't see anything, but I know it's running because i can hear the sounds. The monitor works, because it shows the dell logo and the windows me loading screen, but then it just goes black. Can anyone help me?

I am almost positive its not the CPU monitor because it is still running when the screen is white. If I turn the monitor on and off sometimes, it will work but lately that hasn't been working. Every time I turn it on the screen is white. It is a dell monitor 15inch flat screen LCD monitor. Is it expensive to get a monitor repaired or would it be cheaper to just buy another monitor?

I bought a new computer but don't want to move all of my music from the old one. I want to keep the old one as a "stereo". Is there any kind of adapter or switcher that will allow me to use the same monitor for both?

I've got a CRT monitor. Sometimes it randomly turns blue with the windows slightly visible behind the blue hue. I know the problem is not with the CPU coz the blue extends beyond the screen as defined by the CPU. On hitting the monitor on the side it sometimes turns back to normal...also vice-versa. Is my monitor spoilt ? Can this be repaired ? How?

The monitor is a 17" model. Not too modern but not too old either, I would have thought. Is there a way of putting it back to normal? It does this on its own after about 20 mins - then later goes pink again and repeats the process.( I do NOTHING to cause it to blush! Honest!)
