I've tried wiping the screen with kleenex, paper towels, and cloth, but that just smears them, it doesn't get rid of the spots. I'm afraid of using any kind of cleaner because I don't know what will or won't damage the screen. Any ideas?

I'm using an nVidia Go 6200, and though the DVD shows on my laptop display screen, it's simply blacked out on my external monitor. I have my multile monitor displays set to 'clone'. Thanks in advance. Any additional details needed to give me more help, just say so. Ta.

I am running Windows XP.
I have an onboard Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE (256mb) graphics card.
I attempted to install a second card so that I can use a dual monitor (this card is a cheap card: ATI Rage 128pro 32mb SDRAM 64bit PCI video card)

It seems that when the two cards are in they don't communicate properly. Windows only detects the new (second) card and it doesn't even show up in the display properties as two cards.

My question is: Is there any way to make this work with the two cards present? (both are VGA, by the way)

And if not, what is an inexpensive second card (any version of PCI will work, as long as it's VGA) that will allow me to have dual monitor setup?

The bar is see through, but makes everything underneath it seem blue tinted. It fades on and off all of the time. I've checked all of the connections, unplugged, replugged about 3 times. They all seem fine, and fiddling with the connection doesn't change the blue bar's visibility. If I turn my moniotr on and off it disappears but then comes back with about 3 seconds. Is my monitor dying?! Its only 3 months old! Any suggestions anyone?

This morning when I used my computer the screen was normal. After returning from work, the picture is somewhat distorted. The writing is smaller on the sides and larger and a bit fuzzier in the middle. I tried a System Restore and this did not correct the problem. I tried using the menu on the front of the monitor to adjust contrast etc and this did not help either. Even the size of my desktop icons and the clock numbers along the bottom are different. Can anyone tell me if my Monitor is biting the dust or am I missing something to check? Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Say, like a nintendo or something. My monitor has a 1/8" jack sound input and a serial port for video. Is there any way to convert those a/v red yellow & black cables to serial port, or is that not even possible?

I have a Toshiba SD-360E DVD Upscaler hooked up to my Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP. Since the Dell is DVI and the DVD player is HDMI, I used a gender changer to change from DVI to HDCP. One similer to this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97444&&source=14&doy=11m2

The colours came out blue and green onscreen. Why is this? If I buy a DVI -> HDMI cable insted of a gender changing plug, will that help?

I have successfully connected my Apple Powermac to the monitor before and its worked fine. I notice that the DVI cable im using is DVI Single Link, Whereas the DVI connecter on the gender changer appears to be DVI-I (duel link).

Having said all of that, the DVI connecter on the monitor also appears to be DVI-I (duel link), and yet it works fine with the DVI (single link) cable.

Please advise.
Thanks.

1600x1200 generally have poorer contrast ratio and response times than the 1680x1050, for the same price range.

I was reloading my mouse onto my computer as the right click wasn't working. When I turned it on it said it found new hard ware, and then shut down. The tower didn't shut down nor would it reboot. The light on the tower started flashing on and off very quickly. I ended up just unplugging the unit. The next day when I plugged it in, the tower was already on with out me turning it on, however it would not boot up! I am using an old back up computer now...I think I have gone back in time, so if you can help me please, share your thoughts and ideas. SOS!!!
