There are kits sold to clean LCD screens, however, here are some rules to follow :
- never spray anything directly on the screen (apply it to the cleaning cloth used to wipe the screen)
- never use regular glass cleaner ... use only solutions branded as LCD cleaners
- be careful not to use tissue or Scott towels ... they contain impurities & sometimes particles which may scratch the screen.
(use a microfiber cloth like those sold at eyeglass stores to wipe eyeglass lenses)
- if you use the same cloth repeatedly wash it with dishwashing liquid NOT powdered soap as it also may leave particles that could scratch the screen

When it comes to optimize the layout of your office space, nothing helps to free desk space more then a nice, flat LCD screen. That's probably one of the main reason everyone has one these days. Apart from that, they're also very cheap, easy on the eyes and consume less electricity than their CRT counterparts. With all that said, there’s really no reason not to have one sitting on your desk in 2007.
But these screens are not perfect. In fact, you have to be very careful when cleaning them up. Too much pressure using the wrong kind of cloth will most likely scratch your display and could even burn some of its pixels. So the question is, what is the proper way to clean an LCD screen?
First, you've probably seen some of those expensive LCD cleaning solutions in computer stores right? The good news is that you don't really need these. Mixing up your own cleaning solution is very easy and will actually save you quite a few bucks. You only need 2 ingredients:
70% Isopropyl alcohol (Warning)
Distilled Water
The recipe is easy: Mix the Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water in equal parts (50/50) inside an empty Windex-like bottle. Do not use tap water! Doing so will leave white smears on your screen after cleaning it up because of the dissolved minerals inside the water. When finished mixing, just close the bottle using the "spray" adaptor that comes attached to it.
Next, you will need to find a soft piece of cotton or microfiber cloth to clean your display. Avoid paper tissues at all cost! Using those on your screen would be just like scrubbing sandpaper on it and may scratch it permanently. You wouldn't want to do that right?
Now that we have everything we need, start by turning off your screen. Dampen your piece of soft cloth with your cleaning mixture and then wipe the display gently from top to bottom. Never spray liquid directly onto the LCD. When you're done, wait a few minutes to let your screen dry, and then turn it back on. Voila, you're done! Your screen should now be sparkling clean

For cleaning an LCD screen - use a microfiber cloth - not paper towels for they can etch the surface of the LCD screen, not to mention leave little particles of paper all over your screen.
Don't us any product that is ammonia or alcohol based. These harsh solvents can damage the film on your LCD screen.
I use http://www.pixelclean.com and it works great. When I bought my PixelClean, I used promo code DD020 (zeros) at checkout and got 10% off.
Good luck!

Buy a screenwipe from somewhere like PC World. Don't use anything like Mr Sheen though as that will drip down the screen and enter the keyboard (on a laptop) or damage the monitor.

Yeah, the "demonstrate cleansing Fluid" stuff is costly. i bought some alcohol and ammonia-loose spray, alongside with a rag. it works aswesome, ti would not smudge like windex, yet then I asked some men and that they instructed me to apply a 50% water/rubbing-alcohol (isopropyl) answer, and a physically powerful comfortable rag. Works in simple terms as great, and alcohol evaporates rapidly. i assume you will desire to fairly in simple terms dodge ammonia, and you will desire to no longer sparkling it with water on my own or windex. the subject with LCDs is they're layers of action picture, so that they want some particular care. as nicely that, you could the two verify the owner's handbook or you could touch the organization that made it.

A soft damp cloth with a little detergent will do the trick.
Make sure that the cloth has no abrasive particles on it.
