I've tried wiping the screen with kleenex, paper towels, and cloth, but that just smears them, it doesn't get rid of the spots. I'm afraid of using any kind of cleaner because I don't know what will or won't damage the screen. Any ideas?

Get endust for electronics. If you have a LCD screen you don't want to use anything else but electronic cleaner. I use the endust for electronics. You can get it at walmart, best buy, staples, office max. Basically any place that has electronis. It's in a blue can. Just don't spray it directly on your screen. Get a paper towel or soft cloth and spray it on the cloth. Also don't clean your screan with anything wet like that when it's on. Shut off your computer screen and wait for it to cool before cleaning it. You don't want to damage it. Hope I helped and good luck!

Is it a glass screen or a flatscreen? I've had glass screen monitors and my computer now is a flatscreen and my Mom always uses Windex on a paper towel to clean the screens of both computers we've had.

The best solution is to purchase some screen cleaning cloths from the store (wal-mart, circuit city, best buy), as they won't damage your screen or scuff it up.

I use microfiber cloths. Huff a little of my breath on the screen and wipe. It works. Try it. Nice and natural.

Use electronic wipes. There's a little alcohol on them and they work awesome. You can get them in the electronic department in Walmart and KMart.
