how old is the monitor, and do you leave it on all the time? mine started doing that, plus when it worked it looked curved on the sides,,,,,,, monitors do wear out,,,,,, i picked up my current one at a pawn shop, for 10 dollars,,,,,
suggestion- as stated above, try that monitor on another computer, or borrow a monitor and try on yours, that will help you determine if its a computer problem or a monitor problem,,,,,, i would imagine its about as cheap to get a new one, as repair one

Swap monitors with a buddy. If yours is dead I'd go for a new one with a 3 year warranty. LCD prices have gone WAY down in the last couple years.

Try using a different PC with the monitor. If the problem continues, replace the monitor.

you're able to be chuffed it isnt a blue show screen lol yet while theres a manner you are able to attempt the pc on yet another visual show unit to rule out if its the desktops fault then which could be a start up if no longer i could touch the producer of your pc employer or visual show unit manufacture even yet it may be the snap shots card or the visual show unit

My screen is black but that's another story.
You should probably start from the beginning. That is, you should reinstall your video drivers if you have the cd that contains them. If you don't you should probably call Dell and they can point you in the right direction or send you the CD.

Your PC could be infected by virus. Or you need to replace your video card.
