I presume you are suing a c.r.t monitor, these are still good for playing games but they get vey hot, infact i used to put my socks on the back of mine so they were warm when i got out of the shower
the c.r.t stands for cathode ray tube, and this is what makes these monitors get hot,and after a while the monitor will accumilate a lot of magnetism, and this is what makes your monitor go yellow, mine used to go pink,it varies
what you can do to rectify this is look for a option on the monitors o.s.d (on-screen display) called "de-magnitize"when you find this just press select and the screen will shake as the monitor"demagnitizes" hence the name
i normally had to do this about once a fortnight, but you can slow down the magnetism building up in your monitor by placing your p.c speakers and p.c tower as far from the monitor as possible
i hope this helped
good luck

i loved Winn Dixie =D As for the 8 yr olds I think maybe they're growing up too fast but if the parents are fine with it then let em read! Actually, the fact that they can comprehend over 300 pages is really good and the fact that they're reading at all is wonderful! So, if you see a bunch of 8 year old girls playing Street Fighter or something THEN you can be a little concerned >.>'

It is possible the tube is starting to break, eight years is good for a monitor - i think you may what to invest in a new one.

Sounds like its on its way out. But, before you do throw it, take the leads off, make sure the contacts are clean, or clean them, then see what happens then. Good luck.
