i had a pretty similar thing, only the image was all messed up, I would hit it, but then one day I realized that it can very easily blow up. My advise is: get rid of that crap and buy a new monitor.

Most likely it's a problem in the cable that goes from the computer to the monitor. Make sure it's secured tightly at both ends. If that doesn't help, you might try and get a new cable and see if it improves. A lose cable, or a bad cable that has been bent or has broken wires internally can cause this problem.

There are separate channels and cables for the three primary colours Red, Green, and Blue. One or two of them must be damaged.
Try changing the cable if you can do it for cheap.
If the problem is in the tube, you'll have to replace it.

If fixing the cabels wont work, then it might be a problem with the monitor itself, in this case it would be cheaper to get a new one.
