I have the FireWire 1394 port on my pc(xp). Now, it can export the .avi files, but how can I convert digital to Analog(tv) signals?
Do I have to purchase the TV tuner cards? Do they have analog input as well as analog output?

Yes you can use TV as a monitor, you should have VGA to PAL convertor card for that, you can also go for a video card which give connectivity for Audio and video connectivity

The answer is YES my dear friend to all u r questions.
To connect u r pc to u r TV would require a S-Video out pin on u r graphics card or buy the TV tuner card with dual input/output. It will cost u somewhere around Rs 2000/- . I would prefer PINNACLE TV tuner card its good.

You dont need a TV tuner card to turn TV into a monitor instead what u need is a good graphics card with a TV out option. Just check with the vendor if the one you have has a TV out. I have seen some cards from ASUS with this feature

with a "tv-out" video card. usually they have an s-video-out port which can be adapted with an s-video-to-rca (sometimes included) for tv. tv tuner cards connect your pc to your tv cable for your monitor.
