Q-tech laptop model no. gh007. Screen shows NTLDR is missing.It also comes up press ctrl. alt. del. to restart but it just keeps going back to the original message NTLDR is missing.
Any ideas?

I bought a cheap pair of speakers for my laptop. When I raise the volume on either the laptop or the speakers, it's screeches (a high pitch noise of distorsion, not sure if that's called ''screeching").

I can I resolve this problem? Should I keep the laptop volume down and only raise the speakers volume? What explains the screeching sound?

I can purchase the OEM version for a much reduced price from Amazon. If I do, can I install it much the same as the fully fledged version?
I am actually upgrading the laptop and effectively "building it". I have run the Vista upgrade check and its all ready?

My HP a1620y computer has existing 1G RAM that is by Micron part #: PY106AA#ABA. I bought another 1G RAM from Kingston part #: KVR533D2N4/1G. Both are DDR2-533 PC2-4200 non-ECC. If they are in at the same time it only reconizes 1 under system setup. I've tried them both individually and it recognizes them in both slots so it isn't bad RAM. When I bought my computer it said it could support 2 gig. I'm running XP but I'm going to install my Windows Vista soon. Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to fix it?

It's brand new i brought it last wednesday.I have been taking good care of it but for some strange reason when i turn it on it has dust on it plus it gets some fingerprints on it too easily/quickly.My father-in-law said to use a duster,is that a good idea?Is there a website where they tell you how you can take good care of a laptop.Is there any ways that I can maintain my screen from getting dusty and fingerprints on it.

right now i own a Dell Inspiron 6000. its running on Intel Pentium M processor 1.60GHz, 798 MHz, 512MB of RAM.

is there anything i can do to make my computer run quieter? i like to record my own music using my computer but my mic always pics up the sound of the hard drive running. it just gets annoying and i wanted to know if there was anything i can do or buy to make my computer quieter so its not so loud when its on

I just recently purchased a used laptop. It is a bit outdated but I love it! I am having a problem with extending my desktop onto my television,and I am trying to narrow it down to where I need to be.

The s video port on my tv has 4 prongs, the one on my laptop has 7. They are arranged so that the cord (4 prongs) can fit with both. Should the cord still work even though the ports are slightly different?

I also purchased a converter to change the s video into a regular video out cord and this has not worked either.

I am used to using a mac at work, but can't afford one myself. So I was wondering what would be a good brand.
I want to do some graphic design on the side, as a sort of second job, so I would need something that would run adobe indesign CS2 and atleast photoshop 6.0.

I brought a D-link wireless USB adaptor for my laptop. The first few weeks it was working quite well and I got interent. Now it's like if the interent isn't active for 2 seconds it shuts off, even though the link light is still on. I have to pull it out and replug it back in. most of the time several times before I get a connection. I would like to know is it my computer causing it or is it a problem with the USB adaptor?

I am shopping around for a new laptop. Right now I have a Compaq 2600 and I hate it! It is so slow and unreliable and overheats and crashes all the time. I use my computer for really simple things like surfing the net, doing school work, downloading music, chatting, watching movies, etc. I've heard great things about Macbooks and I like the way the look and operate, but I just don't know if they are worth the extra cash. I can get a new PC for $700. I am just scared that if I buy another PC, I'll have to go buy another new computer in 4 more years because I'll be hit with the same problems I'm having now..
I guess what I am asking is whether the Macbook will give me a longer lifespan? I am graduating from university next year and then going to do a Masters, I just want a computer that will work well all the way until I am done with school.
