I wanted to get a decent laptop that comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office and has at least a 120 GB Hard Drive. Could someone point me to good deals? I'd like to keep it under $1,500.

Click recomend, it will have most of the settings you will want, the only thing you need to go down and check, it the microsoft office software, and then uncheck anything else that you want or don't want, when I did it. i got around 1167.99 for it.

that would not be possible. in any case, since 3 years ago, laptops started to pull out Microsoft Office in their preinstalled package.

there is always an upgrade price to have Microsoft Office installed for you on the laptop. but caution, as some only give you STE versions, and most companies don't give you the Standard or Professional version.

STE (Student Teacher Edition) consists of Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook. however, the prerequisites are that you have to be employed in the educational sector, or a student. it enables you to install on three concurrent laptops.

Standard is what most people will get, as it has enough functions. but that will have to be purchased either through the salesperson that you purchased the laptop from, or seperately from another shop or Microsoft themselves.

the best option is that you could head to computer fairs and try to get a bargain on the laptop system bundled with Microsoft Office Standard. spending money on STE is not worth it should you want to use Access sometime in future.

They don't come with Office anymore, just Windows. The Anti-Trust case took care of that. You can purchase Office at the Upgrade price, however. Your new laptop will have the qualifying software on it.

well. if you go to any retail store, almost all of the laptops they sell come with the Office 60-day trial. if you want it pre-installed, you're best off ordering it from the manufacturer (ie. HP, Dell, etc.)

I love my laptop... it is an HP DVT 1000 (great for watching movies). I bought it through Costco online--you can personalize it and everything.
