my labtop was working fine..i cut it off and the next hour or so i tried to get on it wouldnt power up...so i plugged it in for bout 8 hours and it still will no come on..but wen u plug it in the light for that comes on...someone plz help

Is it correct these days to call a laptop a PC? It sounds wrong to me and i'm sure it is but i'm not sure why... a laptop is kind of a small personal computer, albeit not a desktop PC.

Is it correct or incorrect to refer to a laptop as a PC?

I will not be using it solely to make music, but that is my main consideration. I do not play games on the computer, and I heat that is one main advantage to a PC. I also might be using the computer to make videos, another factor to consider.

The laptop works fine put the stupid dog stood on the screen. So i use it with a dock and an external screen. Would like to know where i can get a cheap screen to replace the broken lap top one..Not an external one a new one for the laptop itself.

I have a laptop i have to use in school and a travel battery. At the beginning of the year, the two put together will last up to 6 hours and ill just plug it in when i get home. And now, the battery seems to last only 3 hours, and i plug it in all night at home. What should i do to make the battery last longer again?

my laptop occasionally crashes, at post bios and when fully booted. sometimes it will work okay for a day or two and then crashes. When it crashes, the screen freezes and bunch of lines and colors slowly appear and the computer dies. There have been occasions it would do this, and all of sudden work again and the lines/colors would disappear.

I formatted and clean install windows xp home, and it still crashes. I didn't upgrade bios, i didn't have a virus (fars i know, since i do keep my anti virus up to date and scan it regularly) I also re inserted memory and didn't help.

So what do you guys think is wrong? LCD? Motherboard? Video? I'm stumped. What stinks the most, the warranty ran out in December! :-( And Acer's support SUCKS!

I have a notebook with 512 MB ddr2 ram, but i am not sure whether it is 1*512MB or 2*256MB. but i am sure there are 2 memory module slots (at least the user's guide says). what does "Memory Slots 2 (2 banks of 1) " mean??

How can i increase the sound of my laptop. Even at the highest, it's just not loud enough.
I've tried the advanced controls option and also have the latest drivers.
Is there some sort of Sound Enhancer or such software that i can use?
Would a good set of headphones from Bose or Sennheiser help improve the sound?
