in my laptop card slot says accepts one type II PC card. what is that mean?

That it can hold 1 type II PC card. The cards that fit in that slot come in different heights. Yours is able to hold a single "type II" card. (The cards also come in type I and type III) Examples of cards that could fit that slot would be type II modems, network cards, wireless cards, and CD/DVD controllers)
