HP, had this quote thing that can tell you how much your laptop is worth, it has many brands to select from, acer being one of them.

Also keep in mind that many new laptop, do have the new vista installed and you can buy a brand new laptop less then 900 dollars.

The odds of you geeting $900 for your machine is slim to nill. You can get a Centrino Duo core, 1 gb ram, 256 mb nvidia video card, 120 gb Hard drive, Windows Vista Home premium, DVD RW with scibe & Dual layer recording performance plus THE WARRANTY for $799-899 brand new. Remember every year computers become more powerful and a lot cheaper. HP, Sony, Dell, plus many others have a better quality Laptop for a fraction of the cost that Acer Aspire cost. plus much, much better support. Your laptop isn't bad and is upgradable to 2 gb, the shared viseo card could be a problem in the Vista World, but the reality of you getting more than $500.00 depends on who you sell it to and if you live in a big city or out in the country where there are no Best Buys or Circuit Cities. Who knows with the right selling skills you could get $900.

With Dell selling 1200$ laptops in 833$ including shipping in deals, I believe that you should lower down the price. Put it for 700$ or less.

.... that's sound's a pretty good price.
If it's a good performer,.... pop around to a couple of your local university's, and put it's detail's up on every single notice board you can find.
Advertise it for $950, and let a buyer bust a gut to screw it down to $900.
At a university,... i reckon there's a very good chance you'll get your $900.
Good Luck....

It's probably worth more but I think you could only get about $850 for it.
