why does my screen and everything on it freeze? I push buttons and nothing happens. What is wrong, how do I fix it? Thanks!

I need/want to buy a laptop and I'm on a strict budget. I have heard from some people that Macs are great and run a lot better than PCs. I also found one that is pretty cheap. I'm used to using PC desktop computers, so I'm a little bit nervous about switching to a Mac. Would I have to buy all sorts of extra things for it? Anyone who uses one-do you like it? How does the Internet run? I need some opinions and recommendations.

I have recently purchased a portable drive for my laptop (New drive does not come with any software). I want to format and partition this drive so that I can have up to 5 different partitions. One of these drives will be for a Database (MySql) I intend to install. Can someone please guide me through this process? Thanks

It installed fine but there is a 1 inch black gap all around the outside of the screen? Any ideas on how to get it to go back so I can see the full screen?

the cursor arrow pauses a lot its so annoying. also when i play streaming video it's jerky even though i have cable. nothing works. should I just reinstall windows xp? what could be wrong with it? I have a Dell Inspirion 1150. someone please help :-(

I can plug my Dell laptop in and the light just keeps blinking showing it is charging but the battery never charges up. It just sticks at 0% charged.

It was working the last time I used it but when I opened it last night to use the mac the spacebar would not move unless I did the ctrl spacebar function. Is there some key function that I may have accidentally hit to make it quit working? Please anyone any advice would help me in such a big way. Thank you ALL

if i plug my power cable into my laptop it dosnt allways charge unless its in a certain position
whats wrong with it:

battery broke
bad power cable
or the power pins split
or somthing else

hey all my ethernet cable keeps losing my internet connection,how can i change my main connection from ethernet to usb? do i have to install any new hardware? when i try to use the usb cable supplied with my laptop my internet won't connect at all.please help! i'm on windows xp with an advent laptop.

I just bought a new laptop with media center xp sp2 and of course it has the usual commercial garbage, memory hogging applications i dont want or need. So I want to wipe it out and just load the operating system. Then I can configure startups, registry, services, etc...It came with no xp cd. I downloaded a couple of media center cd's and when i enter the key on the bottom of the machine they don't work. I know that many keys are now linked to the bios. The recovery partition has the os but also the crap that comes with it. How can I just load the os and use the key i paid for? I hate how new computers run. So full of junk.
