The full message displayed is "a disk read error occured press ctrl+alt+del to restart, " whicj comes up just after the inital toshiba startup screen. When I push ctrl+alt+del, the process simply loops around until I get to that error screem comes up again. I have tried to get into safe mode (F8) with no avail, and I have also tried to run my Toshiba recovery CD directly with the use of the F6 key. I even tried to run BIOS, but since I didn't even get far enough into startup to open it up, I couldn't get to it. I've been surfing aorund, trying to find some info on this issue, but I can't seem to find anything helpful. I don't have any extremely important files on my computer, so while it would be nice to keep them AND get my computer to work, I'd be very grateful if anyone could even get me into a position to start fresh with a working computer. Thanks a lot!

I have a MacBook. It runs both Mac OS: X and Windows. Accidentally, I installed a virus on the the Windows side. Mac was unaffected, while Windows became slower than ever. I ran several antivirus programs, 2 of which picked up nothing, the other founded viruses, but couldn't delete them. I heard that one could some how revert the Windows side (when I didn't have the virus) to origonally how it came on the disc. Does anyone know how to do this and/or if this is a good plan? Thanks. I have certainly learned my lesson on not downloading files on Windows!

Been to F8 and tried the various options: safe mode etc. I have been told that with a copy of Windows EP I can boot up and run but don't know how to get to a point to switch so that I can reboot from CD-ROM. Cheers

The other night I was using it without it being plugged in so the battery was running lower and lower. All of a sudden it just completed shut up. I just figured it was because there was no batttery left (and this had happened once before and I was able to just plug it in and it rebooted) This time it wont even turn on with it being plugged in to the wall.

i was thinking of getting a macbook and had a few questions

1. Does software like limewire pro work with macbook
2. is it true that macbook can run windows
3. if i were to take a dvd that i just recorded from my dvd camcorder can i put it in my macbook and edit it and then burn it again to play on a regular home dvd player
4. Is a macbook compatable with games for a computer like age of empires
5. when they say that macbook can run windows does this means that if you have software that is compatiable with the macbook software then you can still download it in the windows software part of the macbook.

thats it
