From personal experience. I have been using computers since 1995, went to school and got a degree in computers too. I have used both pc and MAC. I switched over for good to MAC and will never go back to a PC. With a MAC you wont get freeze-ups, crashes, errors, blue screen of death and a zillion viruses. PC-windows cant say that. Plus the quality of a MAC is top notch. I would reccomend a MAC. ;)

Depends on what you're looking for. It is true that a MAC doesn't freeze up, you can't get viruses or at least hihgly unlikely, no blue screen of death, and you won't even know what the word re-format means with a MAC. However that comes at the cost of a lack of third-party programs. MAC is highly suggestive if you're into animation and editing, as a matter of fact the MAC is the go to computer for that kind of stuff. More so if you're a student the last thing you need is a virus or a sudden shutdown that wipes out your 7 page essay. But as I said the cons of the MAC is a lack of third party programs, it's a great business/school computer but as a personal computer I'd go with a PC.

The reason behind the viruses is because of it's versatility with third party programs. With a PC you have loads of options when it comes to third-party programs. I mean you still have a variety with MAC but the library of software that works with MAC is limited compared to one for a windows. A PC is also typically cheaper, you can get a simple PC for about $500 to some higher end one's for $2000 it's really up to you. The biggest thing I would say that the PC has an advantage over the MAC is it's versatility for upgrades and customization. With a PC you can change absolutely everything from RAM to Case, MAC doesn't allow this, what this means is that with a PC you can upgrade to more newer technology without burning a hole in your pocket.

In the end it's really up to you, what you're looking for and what you want, again for animation, sound editing, and business I'd recommend MAC since it eliminates the fear of losing that essay, or that movie you made, or those business presentations you may have made

For more personal usage and if you're looking for something that has a little more variety in it's third-party programs, or something a little less pricey or if you plan on looking into hardware customization and upgrade I'd suggest a PC.
