I can plug my Dell laptop in and the light just keeps blinking showing it is charging but the battery never charges up. It just sticks at 0% charged.

I doubt it, if it's a year or two old, the battery is probably dead.

You're pretty much stuck with that one. You'll need a new battery if you plan to use the computer without the AC adapter. With your new battery, once it is 100% charged, unplug it! This is what causes the battery to eventually stop charging.

sounds cattle trucked to me..... you can open the battery and change the cells inside for rechargables BUT...... they are usually 3.6v aa batteries and being rechargable they aint cheap but can result in a much higher performance battery pack. if i were you i would just get another battery.

Nope- rechargeable batteries eventually lose their capacity, at which point you need to replace 'em (Recycle the dead ones).
