How much does a new harddrive typically cost? Is it cost effective vs. buying a new computer?

I have a Compaq Presario laptop... I want something with more room and that is faster.

Do you just buy them somewhere like Best Buy?
My husband is a big gamer and we'd liek something with more room! THANKS!

I bought an hp lap top about 3 weeks ago from future shop. I didn`t take the extended warranty but i still have a 1 year warranty with hp. My laptop broke today, the battery has problems and so does the keyboard, what does my warrant cover me with.

I've tried wiping it all up and airing it out, the worst part is this laptop contains everything - all my work, emails, documents that i need.
The urine has gotten into the keyboard and when i lifted it up dribbled out the back.
I tried calling the Toshiba Information Line, except they don't accept calls on the weekend.
I need help, desperately

i want to restore my pc to same state as bought. i can do this system restore by pressing a F button for example F7 on my computer but how can i restore my laptop? i dont want to do all the rubbish like with a cd and stuff just want a simple answer like when its loading up press F* or something thanks.

I know a lot about operating computers, just not programming them and the internal devices and whatnot. What would you need to know about the computer to tell me if i can buy a wireless adapter card for it and make it worth while? it has windows 98, it has a pentium(r) processor, 16MB RAM.. what else do you need to know? and how do i find the info on the computer? thanks!!!

here's the problem. I had viruses and someone tried putting one of those free download virus protection things on and that worked for about 2 days. I can't restore my active desktop no matter how many times I restart my computer, I can't even access my control panel. Should I get my harddrive cleaned or should I buy a new one?

I have always used CHC on my laptop to undervolt it, however, I feel that the CHC program in addition to .NET framework uses too many resources.

Will I be fine if I don't undervolt? I doubt even 10% of laptop owners undervolt.

Ok. My Presario is just 2 and 1/2 years old and I have never had this problem before. I turned it on and went to a search bar to try and type and everytime I click in a box or go over a box, it automatically types in it the following "====================". This continues on and on in every text box or search bar or scroll bar that I open or try to type. Does anyone know what is going on. I thought maybe a key is stuck but I tested all the keys by pressing down on them and NOTHING seemed to be stuck. When I turn on the laptop I hear the noise of a key being stuck but I just dont see it. What can I do? Is it something I can fix??

I have a Netgear wireless adapter I had installed on an old computer I have recently got a new computer and wanted to install in on the new computer however I have lost the cd and I had tried to call to get a replacement and they told me I had to buy a whole new thing again...
