desktop...or is there any way that i can use bluetooth to put music//photos nto my phone..or wat do I need???

Most PC's nowadays don't have an IR port at all. IR's so... 1990's. Now we're all Bluetooth and wireless USB and Wifi.

IR stands for infrared. The same technologies that most television remote controls use. Not all computers are equipped with this, as a matter of fact, most desktops are NOT equipped with this and only a few older laptops have it to boot. Some palm pilots have it, you can get an external IR adapter that hooks up to the USB port if you want.

It doesn't matter that the computer is Windows XP, what matters is what the hardware is... what brand is it? Is it a laptop or a desktop etc.
