Agreed. The message appears because you are downloading a driver that wasn't designed to support the GeForce 4. Most current 3D games require video cards that support at least DirectX 9 so you will need to upgrade to a NVIDIA GeForce 6 (or Radeon 9000 or X series for ATI cards) or higher to play those games.

Nvidia doesn't update drivers for a card that old. You'll want to get a new video card to play new games. Chances are your entire computer needs to be upgraded if the 440 is the orginal video card.

Oh my, if only we could download a new video card for free when we needed one.

Sorry hun, in order to update your video card that means you have to buy a new one. Unless you are trying to update drivers, in that case you need to get the appropriate drivers for your card because seeing that message means that the driver can not find the appropriate vid card inside the pc.

do you overclock? that would desire to be a area of the problem. if not, then i'm not possibly optimistic. I even have the suitable comparable card and that i've got not observed any overall performance drops in the two Vista or Fedora Linux. that rules out a motive force difficulty. incredibly the only answer I even have is the hardware is going undesirable. you're optimistic the fan is working complete and stuff?

You need a new card. 64 MB will be able to handle very few if any games today.

Hi. My guess is that you have a Dell laptop. I have tried to update my graphics with the same result. May be Dell specific.
