left is to choose or select something (sometimes you also need to doubleclick to choose, single to select) and right is to give context menus, which are those menus that pop up and give you options.

Right mouse button will basically control all context menus. Best way to figure it out is to use it. Try it in various programs. You'll notice it generallly brings up any menus related to the program you're using, or action you are performing. It's a versatile button. :)

Think of your left button as the activator. It selects icons, activates hyperlinks you see in webpages, and starts up your favorite game or program. It's the do'er of the two buttons.

Both work in conjunction to simplify using your computer.

Hi. Left click gives normal action, right click gives options. Experiment!

Left click is for execution (run program etc...) or selection (highlight). Right click is for options. Unless you switch the buttons for left-handed people.
