I have always used CHC on my laptop to undervolt it, however, I feel that the CHC program in addition to .NET framework uses too many resources.

Will I be fine if I don't undervolt? I doubt even 10% of laptop owners undervolt.

I use http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml I use RMClock to keep the CPU cool which prevents throttling

For the processor, it is automatically done by Intel's EIST and AMD's CnQ when processor is idle or at low load to extend battery life.
