Having too many processing cores actually slows you down.

Good job, you just put together an expensive turtle.

Additionally, what OS are you planning to use that supports 16 gigs of ram? Same with the hard drive.

Fiber optics is pointless because once it gets out of your house, it his the bottle neck.

Talk about a waste of money..........

Nice specifications. I only have one suggestion, are you using that thing for games? If you do, you'll be wasting 6 of the eight cores, not to mention the NVidia Quadro FX video cards aren't really for gaming.

A single QX6850 with a couple 1GB 2900XTs in a crossfire or 8800Ultras in an SLI and running a couple Raptors in a Raid0 will wax that at 1/3 the price!!!

That sounds like a MacPro and it sounds like your into hi end video editing. Unlikely to be beaten by ANY PC when it comes to video editing although with gaming I'd get a PC.

Fortunately OS X will utilize 16GB of RAM

Look out because the 3.2GHz Xeons are just around the corner.

Hi. Hate to disappoint you but it will be obsolete in a year or two. If you like it then by all means enjoy it! Fast for now.

Sweet, how much did it cost you?

I think I agree with biggieprice, though. It may slow you down instead of making it faster, so watch out.
