My old one quit on me so I had to get a new one. But it won't work when I plug it in. Can anyone help me out?

P.S. yes I've tried shutting down and restarting the computer already

Most keyboards will work without special drivers. The only time you need special drivers would be for a Microsoft natural or specialty keyboards. Check and make sure, if it is a ps2 keyboard, you plugged into the port that has the keyboard graphic or the same color plug. If not, you plugged into the mouse port and it absolutely will not work. If it is a usb keyboard, unplug from that one and change to another. If it still doesn't work...return it since it is obviously defective.

Good luck,
Z

Is it USB or PS2? If it's a PS2 maybe you plugged it into the mouse port...

When the system first starts up, hit [del] or [F2] or whatever the screen says to hit in order to get into the bios and see what that does.
