Its a AMD dual core 4000+ (2.11ghz), But Halo 2 requires a pentium 4 with at least 2ghz, can i just buy a pentium 4 and stick it in?

You wont be able to put an Intel cpu in an AMD board. You should be able to run it with no prob with your dual core AMD anyway. Go here and have it scan your system to see if it will run halo 2:

No, motherboards either support AMD or Intel usually not both. Usually when a game says it requires a specific processor it also says right after "or equivelent" yoru chip should be fine to run the game, in fact if there is anything that will prevent you from playing the game it would be your graphics card not your processor. If you have an integrated graphics solution you can pretty much garuantee the game is not going to work trust me I tried.

AMD and Pintium are not compatable. This is one of the major issues that is against Microsoft/Intel being closed to any programs that is not controlled by them
The AMD quade core should work fine for the game.

it requires a Pentium 4 2ghz or equivalent your 4000+ should be able to play it as long as you have an ok graphics card
