You have a corrupt MBR. These are the instructions from Microsoft on how to fix it. The website is also included. 1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer. Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted. 2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console. 3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console. 4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER. 5.At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER. 6.At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer. This takes a bit longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.

It sounds like you have a hard drive issue.
Try rebooting and immediately press the F12 key. Once you do, you will see several screen options. One of them will be to run "Diagnostics". Select that option and let the diagnostics run. If you do have a hard drive failure, you will unfortunately need to replace your drive. If you want to try to recover data off of the drive, boot into Safe Mode. Again, boot and this time press F8 immediately and select Safe Mode. Once you get to the desktop you can copy things you need to either an external hard drive or a flash drive.

Hi. Have a friend download and burn 'Bart PE' to a CD. Change the boot sequence in BIOS to CD first. If this works then try and download what you can from the old drive. The boot sector sounds like it's corrupted. http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

Blue screens are never a good sign on PCs. And the hard drive is having trouble mounting and being recognized, it might be damaged.
Follow these steps:
