i have the Geforce 7600GT oc dual 400mhz video processing card and it runs all of my games, but i was wondering should i upgrade to the geforce 8600 or 8800 pci-E card

I have just copied an image of my old HDD onto my new HDD, when I put my new HDD in my laptop, I can boot windows and run programs like IE but I can't access any file. Any help would be much appreciated.

I set my screen to the highest resolution. All images look like they are shown in safe mode, I lowered it back to the original setting and it will not reset. I have a pc, please help. thanks

Hi guys.

I have a K8NS pro Motherboard with an Athalon 64 3000 2.1gb processor, 1 gig ram, Geoforce 7600GS agp graphics card and a new Hannstar AH191 widescreen 19" monitor, all run under XP.

It is linked up to the monitor via VGA and DVI. The VGA display is fine, but when I switch the monitor over to Digital, the background is there, and nothing else. Not taskbar or icons at all.

If I right click, the pop up menue appears, but nothing I select appears.

Can anyone advise on this please?

What does the "PC2100" portion of the description mean. Also can DDRmeory be mix and matched in the same mother board?

I'm doing some homework before I build my next gaming PC. I'm "on-the-fence" as to whether it's going to be AMD or INTEL based. Please let me know your thoughts on the best CPU for under $300. I am thinking of buying a laptop, but need to know some things first. I am something of an amateur when it comes to laptops...please excuse the lack of knowledge!

* Which are good makes to buy? (I am after a reliable make and a company which gives good customer service)
* Where are good places to buy them?

I am not after anything excessively technical, but one with the following:

* A word processing function
* Broadband internet
* WiFi connection
* A music download program (ie Lime Wire etc)
* A photography function (ie Photoshop)

Which laptop brands have just these programs?
Which types of these functions are worth getting?
Do I need to get them put on myself, or do models come with them already installed?

hi i have a desktop from 2002 and it worked fine, a little while ago i went to turn it on and im getting no power and no led lights it seems dead can you tell me if you think its the power supply and if so is it worth it to replace id like to replace it myself i see that its just the screws in the back and the wire connections also if i have to buy a power supply do you know where and how much it should cost and can the problen be that straight forward meaning take the old one out put the new one in and its done any help will be appreciated thanks

HI my dvd drive won't recognize disks anymore. whenever I put in a disks the light flashes and nothning happens. When I check the drive on my computer nothning comes and it says the that the rive is working well. I've even tried updating it and it still doesn't work. And the drive DID WORK BEFORE. IT doesn't recognize CD's or DVD's. any help is appreciated!!!!

I have a 500GB WD My Book connected to my Vista PC via Firewire, and I use it frequently. It works fine, but it can take around 15-30 seconds for the drive to spin back up out of power save mode, and during file operations related to the drive, applications freeze until it has had time to spin back up.

I would ideally like to control the amount of time that elapses prior to it spinning down (because I assume the power save mode extends the life of the drive as well as saving power). WD says the spindown delay is set at 10 minutes and is not configurable.

So, does anyone know of an application that will periodically write a small amount of data to the drive so it won't spin down? Thanks in advance.

My computer runs on 512 MB of memory and the tech guy told me that is enough and I all need is a bigger hard drive to hold all my songs and computer games. So I'm wonder if 250 GB - 350 GB be enough. I think one song equals about 5 MB and 1,000 MB equal 1 GB. I do have Windows XP.
