is it a networked printer? if so then vista has been known to have significant problems with that.

you need to download the printer vista driver from it web site. May be the install disc that you had is only win xp supported.

consult your printer maker's web site. you'll need your model number.

if that fails, try MicroSoft's Vista help site.
