I'm doing some homework before I build my next gaming PC. I'm "on-the-fence" as to whether it's going to be AMD or INTEL based. Please let me know your thoughts on the best CPU for under $300. And I don't just mean what's the fastest clock-speed that $300 can buy. If some 1.5 GHz, $125 part overclocks to 3 Ghz or something better, please let me know. Thanks!!!

I recomend AMD Athlon 64 bit. To get the best preformance, you need the x64 edition of xp or vista. Most every program works. You can download a trial of x64 xp on microsoft's site.

You need x64 drivers
