General question on PC memory.

What does the "PC2100" portion of the description mean. Also can DDRmeory be mix and matched in the same mother board?

Usually has to do with bus speed. I found this at a web site. It's a very brief description. 266, 333 & 400 are the bus speeds..doubled.
