How do I determine my motherboards bus speed? I am trying to determine what speed of RAM to buy."

I don't want to open my box to determine the manufacturer. Is there a way yo do it form the command prompt or within windows?

Firstly, I'd poke around the BIOS, but be sure not to alter any of the current settings for your PC. If you're a bit finicky about this, just be sure to 'Exit without saving' when prompted. Otherwise a hardware ID prog such as SiSoftware Sandra will tell you this. The Website can be found here:

You can probably find that information in your owner's manual. Otherwise, you can enter your pc model number into the search engine on the various memory manufacturers web sites and they will recommend what to use.

It doesn't matter. On the DV9700, the FSB only connects the CPU to the Northbridge. It has no effect on the memory at all.
