My sound seems to be working perfectly but today, when I went to play a Nexon game, it got disconnected and said that my sound card was either missing or the settings were wrong?

I think you can but jsut to make sure. Can you fax a document without printing and scanning the sheet? or do you have to first print the document scan and then only can you fax?

Can one use an SD card, and is it as good as a Flash Drive, to add additional memory to a laptop with Vista Premium. Also, what has been your experience when using this method to boost memory? What is the best SD card or Flash Drive for this purpose?

I would like to purchase a new motherboard(Micro ATX) and processor for my desktop. I haven't been keeping up with the technologies and reviews for this.

So, I have several questions. You can either answer them, or direct me to a website that provides this kind of information.

What is the best processor in the $100-$125 range? Is it the Intel Duo, Athlon54 Dual Core, or something else? And what is a good micro-atx motherboard to go with it?

well i know this is soo stupid .. i have no clue what i was thinking.. i went on START then MY COMPUTER. and i started deleting some folders on LOCAL DISK (C:).. like some of limewire things and folders that were empty.. and now.. i can't use internet explorer .. i have to go to the recycle bin and open msn from there.. . but this message keeps on popping up saying... i" internet explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close.. and then a bunch of other things.. .. i know you don't have to help me out here.. but i would love some advice on what to do to fix my problem..thanx..

1) Intermittently, I get a message: "No response from the scanner. Make sure the scanner is on and properly connected. If using the Transparency Unit, remove the reflective document mat."

The above happens out of the blue while I'm in the middle of the lengthy process of scanning about 3,000 35mm slides. Sometimes I can scan several groups of 4 slides (maximum for my scanner) and then it "quits." Other times, it won't even let me Preview before I get the message. The scanner remains connected correctly (why would I yank the USB cable out while it was in the middle of scanning the slides?) and, of course, the reflective document mat is removed.

When I "lose" the scanner, I re-open Epson Scan on my desktop and try again. Sometimes it proceeds without a hitch and sometimes it doesn't.

Suggestions for fixing it?

2) Preview shows a perfect image, but after scanning, people have blurry blobs at their eyes & mouth. What is causing this to happen? Suggestions for resolving issue?

I just bought a new printer and the ink goes pretty fast. I used to buy generic ink on Ebay for my old printer but with this new printer I don't know if the generic brand will effect the new printers' performance. What is the difference between the generic and the original ink cartridges?

I just need the print out to be clear and legible nothing fancy as long as I can read it and prints neatly without smudging. Will the generic confilct with original color inks still installed?

My C Drive crashed, and i need a new one. Can i get any kind or does it have to be compatible with my computer. I understand somewhat about computers. Oh, and is this hard drive any good?

I've been trying to resize my monitor settings to 1280x1024 which is the recommended mode (i get a pop-up when my monitor first powers up that says: "not optimum mode: recommended mode - 1280x1024 60Hz". I follow the troubleshooting instructions, but when i go to Display Setting>Advanced>Monitor it says "Default Monitor" and I can't click on the "properties" button like it directs me to do.

I have one of those Samsung flat panel HD monitors, and I've re-installed the drivers but nothing seems to work...

one of the employees here disabled norton antivirus for a small period of time. The computer turned off and when we rebooted it, EVERYTHING had disappeared, EVERYTHING!!! None of my documents were saved, nothing, its as if i had just bought the computer within the hour. Microsoft and all other programs had to be reinstalled. It was like a brand new computer. PLEASE somebody help and tell me I can (and how i can) recover all or part of my documents. PLEASE help...thanks!

I found the drivers for the Elitegroup K7S5A and downloaded them to the pc. I had to unzip them but now im faced with a few files none of which i know of. 3 of them say CMUDA, there is 3 .DLL files including the audio which i need. Also there is CMICNFG file. How do i reinstall these files. PLEASE PLEASE HELP PEOPLE.

I am wondering what is the best thing to do with a laptop when not in use. Should it be turned off everytime, or put on standby? I pretty much just have it at a desk and never move it around, so it's used like a desk top. I use it about 5 times a day for 5 mins to a couple hours sometimes.
