My computer cant be upgraded I dont think, and I need a DVD ROM drive, at least 8x. Do they sell external DVD ROM drives?

if your pc is not over 6yrs old you can most likely upgrade it internals do cost much less than an external.bestbuy would be a good place to take it but yes you can buy externals
