You should add more RAM, perform a disk cleanup and defrag your hard drive. The disk cleanup and defrag is found in your system tools menu and you should run them at least once a week depending on your use of that computer. A up to date virus protection could help also, AOL and other internet providers usually offer a free version online. If you have a newer computer with Microsoft Vista, they have Microsoft Defender already loaded.

I checked my son's laptop, and noticed they had not cleaned out the system restore, if you have had your laptop for a long time, once in a while you have to delete all the old system restores, make sure your computer has not viruses before doing this. You have to go into system restore settings, and just check mark shut it off. then close done your computer and reboot, make sure once you have rebooted to turn on the system restore again.
