I recently went to burn a cd and got a message was displayed saying there is not writing device on my computer. I burned a cd only a few days ago, and now i have no idea what happened. I checked my recycling bin but it was not in there. What can i do to restore the E so i can burn again.

Although, this really isnt an issue yet, it might be and I want to avoid it. I am trying to purchase a Dell E520 that comes with a 305 watt PSU. I am also trying to purchase an EVGA nVidia 7600GT DVI that requires 350 watts. I've read so many forums and half of them say that you need to upgrade the power supply, and half of them say the 7600 GT will run fine on a 305 watter. I do not want to destroy any hardware, and I have so many different opinions. Will testing the card on the 305 destroy it first time? Could it work for a while and slower degrade the card or the PSU? Help! What is the real answer?!?!

I can't see the START bar in the monitor just the background thats all,I need Help,i there any commands or ways to turn it back!I can't open any program becauseit is in dual view i think so!i need tips or commands ,,,,, I dont see a window of the programs i've opened but i know it works because it is loading for example; the Display Tools,it works but it doesn't appear in the window because it is in the left view <---- but i can't drag it because i don't get it.PLS HELP PRo!!!!

It happened a few weeks ago, I tried to play a cd and it just wouldn't read it. No cd's, dvd's, or roms. The drive exists, but when I put a disk in it tries to read it but gives up after a couple of tries. What can I do? Is it the laser out of alignment, can I check to see if that is it? Where can I find a replacement if I need to replace it?

when i try to delete my partition it comes up saying i put in the wrong volume label. but i can't figure out what other thing it could be. it looks like A1, but the 1 does't look like the 1 you type in, can ne one tell me if theirs another #/letter that looks like a 1? i tryed (L,I and a couple others) please help me. thx

All that shows up on the reboot is the blue screen with the small XP welcome icon and no icons for my user logins. I've tried pushing F5 and tried every kind of safe mode reboots and still the same thing. I'm not that savvy on computer lingo, so please answer in layman's terms.

LINUX fails to install in my new external harddrive (error:"failed to create folders"). When I go back to Linux Ubuntu I can see the external harddrive but can't access nor modify it. Now WINDOWS/Start/My Computer can't locate the external HD (does not say (E:) or nothing at all). Its connected using USB. I already re-installed its driver in XP & rebooted and this does not help. *QUESTION: How do I get access again using XP WINDOWS? Thanks!

This is very strange as I know a bit about IT;
When I turn my pc off it will turn on by its self, at different times and any days, so I turn it off by the surge board. Also when I turn my pc off it sometimes restarts, the settings are ok because I tried a different hard drive, yet it still done its stupid habits. I am pretty sure that it is a part in the pc which is on its way out? But which part? My pc is only about 3 years old and my hard drive is new and is only 5 months old! Any suggestions out there?????

Recently installed Def Pro security and few days later upgraded to Win 98-scanned ok-but after upgraded to Win98 started having problems-then totally crashed-wanted to try Sys Restore but won't allow to go back before installs--did manage to remove Def Pro but when rebooted-all icons missing from desktop. Problem-don't have software or restore cd for Win95--can this be fixed? Please help--it's a Dell pc-also can get on internet now but no sound.

My computer would shuts off by itself when I turn it on. The keyboard light and the orange light below the power button would be on, but the power button light itself would be off. When the computer shuts off, the power supply fan would still be working, but the fan in the middle would be off. I have to manually push the power button and wait for it to shuts down completely and then restarts. I would really appreciated if someone can help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.

My computer kept telling me my virtual memory was low. So I downloaded "ErrorSafe" and it could only fix so many probs. before I had to buy. It also said I had a DLL prob. so I did a scan for that and of course have to buy the "full version" to completely fix. Question..Is it worth it??? or what shall I do???

My mac is running very slow and often times I have to wait a few secs before words I type down even show up on the screen.
We can not open up some files for some unknown reason and I used to be able to open up yahoo games now I can't even do that.
Also we have had firefox close the windows all by itself and say that none of the files have been affected but does not give a reason why it closed itself down.
Is there a way to have this fixed?

I have a Intel 82815 graphics controller in my computer. I am using windows XP home edition. Alot of games I try to get says I need to update my video card. I have ran all of the test for this card and they all work fine. I went to the Intel website and tried to get the latest version for it but it says that theone I already have is higher (oralready better) The website doesn't have any other ones to choose from, what do I do?

Am I missing something? I have upgraded, and there is still not enough umph. I know that a computer will only run as fast as its slowest component. But, I am wondering if there is something in BIOS that I should change so that the RAM is utilized better. Perhaps something I over looked.

I have a Toshiba Tecra A7 laptop and would I need a special hard drive to burn the copy if possible? It can play DVDs, CDs. and it says on the hard drive: RW and then DVD+Rewritable. Thank you for ansewering in advance!
