It's a 462-pin, MicroATX motherboard. While I'm not sure exactly what processor you speak of, it looks like AMD 2800+ processors are Socket AM2 or Socket 754 only. 462-pin motherboards are somewhat dated.
Although I am a HUGE computer geek, and I believe this information to be accurate, I cannot guarantee that.

previously you recover from excited and purchase this new processor, you may intend to ensure your motherboard helps it. in simple terms as a results of fact you get a socket 939 processor does no longer propose your motherboard BIOS will comprehend it. you need to finally end up spending funds just to verify it did no longer artwork. examine with the motherboard producer and notice if it helps twin middle processors. If the equipment is from an o.e.m, like EMachines, or Dell, or Gateway, you may ed to examine with them or maybe then, they won't choose that should assist you. in case you pick you could open you equipment up, seek for any type of section extensive form on the motherboard and then use the internet to verify the specs of it. Even motherboards in OEM machines must be made with the aid of a distinctive producer then the actual OEM. In different words, it truly is achievable that a Gateway device would rather have a motherboard made with the aid of somebody else. i'm no longer saying Gateway does this, i'm in simple terms using this as an occasion.

Your K7VM4 mobo is socket 462(socket A).
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ would fit the mobo.
AMD Athlon 64 2800+ or Sempron64 2800+ would not fit your mobo since they need a socket 754.
Hope this helps.

Yes, so long as the processor is a socket A, or mostly called socket 462.
If the processor is a Barton then it is compatible.
