I have an ECS P4VXASD2+ (V5.0), purchased 2 x 512 mb pc2100 non ecc, unbuffered kingston ram ( kvr266x64c25/512). I have an addition 512 mb ( KVR133x64c3/512)

2.53GHZ P4 , 128mb ati radeon 9000 pro, 2 port usb pci, creative sound blaster sound card

It works perfect with just 1 stick of 512mb but when i add the other ram, it gives me the blue screen. I have no idea how to fix this...is it possible that i need to take out some of the jumpers on the motherboard? it also restarts randomly if it loads up to windows xp. can someone please help!!!?

my computer uses both DDR and SDRAM

4 slots total

2 for the pc266 and 2 for pc133

I'm currently using a Cooler Master Praetorian (older version) as my case. It is extremely noisy because it uses 3 80 mm fans... I want to get a new case that will make less noise. If I unplug all my components from the motherboard/PSU, will there be any data loss ?

I was wondering what could be wrong with my computer.I have a compaq windows xp and after typing for a while the words do not show up on the screen and I have to sit and wait after typing for them to appear.Then my hard drive begins making a loud noise that sounds kind of like a vaccuum cleaner.The longer I type the slower it gets until it seems the words take forever to appear on the screen.If I turn my computer off and let it rest a minute the problem is gone when I turn it back on.It's really frustrating because the more I turn it off to fix it the sooner it starts happening again.Any suggestions?

I have an external hard drive and when I try to copy a file over to my local drive it will start and show say 2 minutes left. However the copying time progressively gets larger till it hits 197 minutes and then it completely stalls and it won't copy the file over.

Well, I restart my computer because of installations and updates. When my, computer shuts down and restarts, my monitor doesn't open anymore and the yellow light is flickering slowly. When I press the reset button long, that's the only time it turns on and then Windows XP starts up and then the normal SOPs. What should I do for this not to happen again? It's been happening a long time now and I've asked a lot of questions lately about my ****** computer. My computer is acting like it doesn't want to charge like it use to. I inspected my charger, and nothing it seems wrong on the outside. When I hold the battery in my hand, it works, but when I set it down, it doesn't. Can I take out my battery without something messing up (Bios, hard disk, memory, stuff on my computer, etc)?

I read some where that you can save disk space by partitioning drives. Is that recommended, is it difficult? Can a person mess up their pc if they don't do it correctly? I'm new at this, I just added another 512MB RAM although system properties shows total RAM as 960Mb, I had 512Mb before, I thought 512 + 512 was 1024Mb? I' confused.
